The name BeCause is derived from two words “Be” and “Cause”. They represent the heart message our Society wishes to spread : Be the cause to make a difference in the lives of those who are in need and underprivileged.
Our philosophy is that one can always help in his/her own capacity – be it money, gifts , effort or time. In this way , charity work can be transformed into enriching joyful experiences rather than something we do as an obligation. This, we believe, will help promote the spirit of collective responsibility so that everyone can take part.
BeCause principally supports and promotes worthy causes and NGOs who are in the same help category. Hence, there are no barriers for us when it comes to helping those in need.
On 16th September 2015, BeCause will be organizing a Charity Hunt at Sunway Pyramid to raise funds for two worthy causes:
Building new accommodation quarters for the 30 odd orphans and abandoned children. Their living quarters were burnt down by intruders in 2014.
Building a new Home on a piece of land which the Home had been offered at a discounted price after eviction notice was served on them to leave by end of 2015 by the local authority.
The theme of this event is ‘Hunt with fun and purpose’.
100 % of the proceeds from the participation fees collection will be given to the two charities in equal share. We want every cent of public’s money to go to the named Charities.

‘Together we can make a Difference ’
This year’s NASAM 2015 Food & Fun Fair on 14th June started off on a rainy morning. Despite some delay in the setting up of the stalls due to the wet conditions and soggy ground, the crowd started coming in as early as 8am.
BeCause members/volunteers were busy at their stalls which also included the portable Petting Zoo (courtesy of Sunway Lagoon).
This year, as a regular activity, BeCause sponsored about 20 orphans and neglected kids from Bodhi Homecare, Cheras to have a fun day at the Fair. The boisterous group attracted a lot of attention and in particular the Lions Club (K.L.) who had set up a food stall and invited the orphans over to have free meals and a group photo taken. Hopefully this encounter will result in a better tomorrow and future for the orphanage.
Because members truly showed the right attitude in engaging in charity work and volunteerism with their spirited and joyful effort. We shall let the photos here speak for themselves!

Big thank you to the wonderful BecCause volunteers!
Fourteen Help Institute college students wrote to BeCause to help them to fulfil their Study Skills volunteerism assignment.
BeCause was happy to work out an appropriate program of activities for them so that they have a deeper feel for charity work .
The program started on 13th June, with a briefing at BeCause centre to introduce our organization and its objectives. One of our objectives is to empower youths to contribute more to Society and to remove the wrong notion that charity is only about money and belonged to the domain of rich and famous adults.
This opportunity seemed timely and the job was suitable for the Help students as it is working indoor. Our President and wife kindly sponsored all the paint, painting tools and materials needed for the job.
On Saturday, 20th June, the painting effort started at 10am with some invaluable help from an elder from the Home who gave some tips to the students on how to do a professional painting job.
The students put in 5 hrs of solid work! Actually the painting part was easy. The preparation to move, cover and protect the furnitures, beds etc and getting the students to learn quickly how to mix paint and acquire basic painting technique was the challenging part.
The students worked diligently and completed the job ahead of schedule before 3pm. After cleaning up everything and making sure the beds and other furniture were back in their original places, the caretaker only had praises for them. We could see happy faces amongst the Home’s inmates.
What a wonderful and meaningful way for youths to spend a Saturday in this way!
